Celebrating the life of
Mary Jane Corning Rosenbaum
May 28, 1950 - December 06, 2025
Mary Jane Corning Rosenbaum passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025 at Hospice Savannah. Born in Tarboro, NC, May 28, 1950 to Louis and Madeline Corning III of New Bern NC. Mary Jane married her beloved husband, Albert B. Rosenbaum in 1973.
Mary Jane is survived by her husband, Albert B. Rosenbaum of Savannah, Georgia and children- Amanda Lee Galston (Matthew) of Copenhagen, Denmark and Adam Collier Rosenbaum (Katherine) of Fairfax, VA as well as four grandchildren-Albert Marshall Galston, Caroline Day Galston, Madeline Rosenbaum and Abigail Rosenbaum; and siblings Elizabeth Corning of Durham, NC and Louis Avery Corning IV of New Bern, NC.
Mary Jane was raised in Tarboro and New Bern, NC. She attended St. Andrews College, Laurinburg, NC and Massey Fashion College, Atlanta. While perusing her career in Washington, DC she met and married her husband, Albert. She raised her two children in the DC area, rejoining the workforce as Executive Director of the Fairfax Choral Society and later, Assistant to the President of Leap Frog Solutions in Northern Virginia.
She found great joy following her passion and talents in music singing with the Montgomery County Masterworks Chorus (Bethesda, MD) and Fairfax Choral Society (Fairfax, VA) for many years and toured Europe with the latter group. Her natural good humor and positivity made her a beloved, long serving member of The Junior League of Washington.
After retiring in 2013, Mary Jane and Al relocated to The Landings at Skidaway Island, Savannah, GA where she was an active member of the community until her accident in 2022. Wherever Mary Jane went her magnetic personality, compassion and interests earned many cherished and loyal friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00p.m. Friday, December 19th, at Skidaway Island Methodist Church, 54 Diamond Causeway, Savannah, GA 31411. In lieu of followers DuetKids.org (a charity that supports music education, teaching, choir and instruments in Chatham County, GA)

Mary Jane was simply remarkable in so many ways. We loved our shared times with the Fairfax Choral Society, multiple trips to Starbucks, holidays, and scotch tasting. With our husbands, we made a fearsome 4some. I will miss here always.

Mary Jane was a perfect example of a true Southern Belle. Hospitality smile and laughter. She will truly be missed. Our many adventures with Georgia Tech games to Smith Lake and Fame studio in Florence as well as summer adventures in Skidaway and surrounding islands will be memories forever. Love and miss you sweet lady! Be sure to give Marty a big hug and enjoy the music together!

Mary Jane was my very first best friend and playmate when we were little girls growing up in Fairview Park in Tarboro in the 1950s. Some of my most precious memories involve her, her little sister, Beth, and my little brother, Sidney. They were golden days, indeed! We reconnected in the mid-1990s when I moved to New Bern and we would get together when she visited her parents. I am so grateful for these later years. May God bless you, Al, and your children and grandchildren. She will be missed.
